Can you believe there are still some county commissioners who want to waste- oops spend- money on an Emergency Operations Center? The real emergency is that Lake County can’t afford this boondoggle with a budget hemorrhaging red ink.
The Lake County School Board needs to figure out that “passing the buck” is not making a decision. These days, I guess that’s the only thing they can pass, so they keep doing it.
If you want to know how decisions are being made in Lake County, just follow the campaign contributions. Multiple $500 checks bundled up by a Sorrento landowner from family and friends can make decisions much easier to make if you are running for Lake County Commissioner.
If you graded on a 90 degree curve you still couldn’t give an “A” to the Lake County School District administration. With a half billion dollars in debt, new schools everywhere, and iPads for all, the best we can do is 44 out of 67 counties. It seems mediocrity costs a lot in Lake County.
Memo to Lake County citizens – you can’t trust the Lake County School District with the checkbook. The latest state audit says they launder money from one program to another quicker than a front-end-load Maytag. Unfortunately for them, the money still comes out dirty.
If it were a choice to vote for a red brick or Rep. Larry Metz, then the red brick would get my vote. At least the red brick wouldn’t try to close our hospital, kill thousands of local health care jobs, and work to stop medical care for the poor and indigent.
An attractive blonde is actually running Lake County now, and I’ll be darn it’s not some politician’s mistress. Way to go County Commission Chairwoman Leslie Campione.
